Who we are

Content Authority is a digital marketing agency based in Australia. We operate the cyber tools at cyber.contentauthority.com.au as a free public service to help website owners understand and improve their security posture.

What these tools do — and do not do

Our tools are passive. They do not:

• Log in to your website or server
• Store your credentials
• Modify your website, DNS, or server configuration
• Run intrusive penetration tests or vulnerability exploits
• Guarantee detection of all security issues

Scans are performed by making standard HTTP requests to the URL you provide — the same type of request a browser makes. Results reflect publicly observable information only.

Data we collect

When you use the free security scanner or symptom checker:

• Website URL you submit — used only to perform the scan. Not stored in a database. Not linked to your identity.
• Symptom selections (symptom checker only) — processed entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to our servers.
• Email contact requests — if you click a "Request Review" or purchase CTA, your browser opens your email client with a pre-filled template. We receive only what you choose to send.
• Standard server logs — your hosting provider (DS Network / Dreamscape Networks) may log IP addresses and request metadata as part of normal server operation. We do not actively collect or analyse these logs.

Cookies and tracking

The cyber tools at cyber.contentauthority.com.au do not set tracking cookies. We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or other third-party tracking scripts on these pages.

If you navigate to the main Content Authority website (contentauthority.com.au), that site may have its own cookie and analytics setup governed by its own policy.

Payment data

Paid services (Fix Pack, SafePatch, AI Ready Fix Pack) are processed through Stripe. When you click a Stripe payment link, you are directed to Stripe's secure checkout. Content Authority does not collect, store, or process your card details. Stripe's privacy policy applies: stripe.com/au/privacy.

How we use the data

The website URL you submit is used solely to perform the security check in real time. It is not stored, sold, shared, or used for marketing. Email enquiries you send are used only to respond to your request.

Who we share data with

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Data may be shared only:

• With service providers necessary to operate the tools (e.g. hosting infrastructure)
• Where required by Australian law or a valid legal request

Data retention

Because we do not actively store scan inputs, there is no user data to delete from our systems. Email enquiries are retained only as long as needed to fulfil the request or as required by law.

Your rights

Under Australian Privacy Act obligations and, where applicable, the GDPR, you have the right to:

• Know what personal data we hold about you
• Request correction or deletion of personal data
• Opt out of any direct marketing (we do not send unsolicited marketing)
• Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au

Security of this site

cyber.contentauthority.com.au is served over HTTPS. We apply security headers (HSTS, CSP, X-Frame-Options, X-Content-Type-Options, Referrer-Policy) to protect users. The tools themselves do not require you to create an account or submit sensitive personal information.

Children

These tools are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

We may update this policy as our tools evolve. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be noted here.
